What is a super bill?
Super bills are typically used when your therapist is out-of-network with your insurance plan and there’s a bit of paperwork to complete in order to receive coverage. You would pay the therapy costs out-of-pocket upfront and then submit a request for reimbursement to your insurance company - providing them with proof of the session and details about your treatment. A super bill looks like an invoice, and includes additional information such as a diagnosis, CPT codes (information about procedures), and ICD-10 codes (information about diagnoses). Once processed, you will receive the insurance’s reimbursement. There is no guarantee your insurance plan will accept this or reimburse you.
What’s the difference between individual therapy and coaching?
Individual therapy:
utilizes evidence-based practices to improve mental health, process traumas, and enhance overall wellbeing
Life coaching is:
directive, goal-directed, and more short-term
not covered by insurance
not limited to California residents.
Is teletherapy appropriate for everyone?
Nope! Some individuals better benefit from in-person services, higher level of care, or community resources with an interdisciplinary team.
